Thesis 93: The City of God

Earthly cities depend (in vain) on walls and military garrisons for protection.[1] Christians, as the Temple-City of God,[2] need no such walls, no such polis.[3] The New Jerusalem is the Anti-Polis.[4]

As kings recognize their obligation to obey Biblical Law, they surrender their rule (“archydom”) over others and begin to exhort and encourage them to obey God’s Law in their households.[1]
